Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR ONE OF YOUR HOMES?
Your monthly income, your employment history and your rent or home payment history are the most important considerations. We do not do a credit check. However, we may run an eviction report and/or a criminal record check. If you have concerns about the past activities that you believe may disqualify you, tell us about them as they may not be show stoppers. If you do not tell us and we discover them on our own, the probability of your not being approved will increase.
DOES THE HOUSE NEED REPAIR?
If there are repairs needed, you may have the choice of doing some or all of them yourself for a reduced deposit and/or monthly payment. If not, submit a list of what you want done and we will mutually agree on re-pricing, if necessary.
IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE?
In the Metroplex and the Fort Hood area there is a $35 application fee. Incomplete applications will slow down the process of getting you into a house. We do not start the approval process until the application is complete.
IS THIS HOUSE INSURED?
Yes. The insurance covers the house but not your belongings. We recommend you also purchase renters' insurance to protect the contents. Your car insurance agent can usually assist you with this.
